An orignal painting for a gift

Monday blog post #90

I just made a short break to write my Monday blog post while I left one of the paintings to dry so I can continue with it...
It is a bit stressful as I need to finish 6 more custom ordered paintings and few more smaller things in less then a week but I am looking forward to hear happy thoughts and smiley faces when people receive them as a gift.
It is great that the weather in Doha is nice so I can be at my balcony, enjoying the sun and light. It is a huge difference painting in a good daylight and painting in my studio when it's dark outside :(

Here are two of my recent custom ordered paintings:

Last week I participated in two events:
Ritz-Carlton's Christmas Tree Lightning Ceremony and Little Christmas Market and MIA Park Bazaar.
Both events were outdoor and they were really nice. I liked the atmosphere, the weather and getting feedback on my work.

Thank you all for coming!!!

In the beginning I was melting in the sun,  it was 35 degrees but later on it started cooling down with a bit of a nice breeze. Unfortunately, the part where I was located at didn't have lights so after the sunset my table was in complete dark and I had to pack my stuff before the bazaar finished. Anyway, I had a really good time. I love being outdoor and this is the perfect opportunity plus I can hear the feedback from the visitors. Thank you a lot for visiting my table and showing your interest in my work :D Thank you all who left their contacts, I have already added you to my mailing list so you can start receiving my cute emails.

My next market will be at Virginia Commonwealth University on 15th November where they invited only Doha-based makers of art, design and craft plus their students and alumni to showcase their work. I am so happy they picked me to participate in this market and I am really looking forward to it!!!
Hope to see you there too!!!

Bazaars in Doha

Monday blog post #53

Hi and welcome!

November and beginning of December are here known as Christmas and Holiday Bazaars month. I have already booked my table for 5 events. So it's been quite busy over here at the Les Chérubins studio :D

First one was on 2nd November at the Museum of Islamic Art Bazaar.
That Bazaar is organized every first Saturday of each month from October to April and it's been really popular.

Second one was on Saturday, 9th November at the Grand Hyatt Hotel organized by American Women Association called International Holiday Bazaar. This Bazaar is really well know and well advertised so lots of people come and all proceeds from tables and tickets go to charity so we are all doing a good thing :D

In between of those two events, I had a great time at my art group's ARTogether where we were learning drawing with the right side of our brain and blind painting. Our teachers were Willemien and Hannelore, artists from our group. I had so much fun!

Giving back to community

Monday blog post #48

Hello!
Happy to see you :)

This Monday blog post is about giving back to community.

MIA PARK BAZAAR October 2013

It is going to be 3 years in January since I've moved to Qatar. I can't believe how time flies when you enjoy what you do, when you explore new opportunities and meet new people. Qatar became my home and I've decided to give back to this community.

Giving back to community doesn't need to include money but giving a bit of your free time and your heart.

On Friday it was a really hot day around 40 degrees or even more and we were getting ready for Ladies of Harley Breast Cancer Awareness Day event. It's my 3rd year now since I've became active in this event. It was organized at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Doha and it was beautiful. Hayat cancer support group representative was also present. I told her about my initiative for raising money for the breast cancer patients who need money for the treatment and she was so happy and promised to put me in contact with them. I want to thank Margarita for organizing everything and giving me the opportunity for being involved in such an amazing event.

Just a quick reminder about my initiative: I painted a painting Little Pink Angel and made 5 different items, paper goods with that image. I'm selling them at the events and online. You can find them all on this link

On Saturday I was at the Museum of Islamic Art Park Bazaar from 12-5pm. I almost melted how hot it was, 41 degrees. My friend Aly saved me with a big shade she brought. If there wasn't her I wouldn't be even considering of staying in the sun. There was not many customers but those who came were really supportive and they melted my heart :)

Here are some photos to see how I managed to survive even I got sunburned :)))

Museum of Islamic Art Park Bazaar in April

Hi all!!!
It was really nice this time at a MIA Park Bazaar, the weather was much better than the last two times.
It was hot in the beginning but thanks to my friends Kristy and Sarah I had an umbrella. After 3 o'clock it was even better temperature went down and shade started coming. There were lots of people having fun and enjoying looking and buying stuff from around 100 vendors.

For this Bazaar I had prepared few of my paintings, art prints, art bookmarks, handcrafted cards and handmade brooches along with my younger sister's jewelry.

Here are few photos
( I still don't have my camera :( so some of them my friend took and this one is from Museum of Islamic Art facebook page)

Bazaar at Museum of Islamic Art Park, Doha, Qatar

First Bazaar ever organized by Museum of Islamic Art at the Park of Museum was launched yesterday, on Saturday February 4. The idea is to hold this Bazaar on the first Saturday of every month. So next one will be on March 3.
It is open air market, showcases an eclectic mix of food, jewelry, arts, crafts, clothing, books, souvenirs, perfumes and more. With over 100 street vendors and spectacular harbor views, the MIA Park Bazaar is a modern take on Qatar’s souq tradition.

Here you can see photos of my table.
