An orignal painting for a gift

Monday blog post #90

I just made a short break to write my Monday blog post while I left one of the paintings to dry so I can continue with it...
It is a bit stressful as I need to finish 6 more custom ordered paintings and few more smaller things in less then a week but I am looking forward to hear happy thoughts and smiley faces when people receive them as a gift.
It is great that the weather in Doha is nice so I can be at my balcony, enjoying the sun and light. It is a huge difference painting in a good daylight and painting in my studio when it's dark outside :(

Here are two of my recent custom ordered paintings:

Last week I participated in two events:
Ritz-Carlton's Christmas Tree Lightning Ceremony and Little Christmas Market and MIA Park Bazaar.
Both events were outdoor and they were really nice. I liked the atmosphere, the weather and getting feedback on my work.

Thank you all for coming!!!

My favourite event

Monday blog post #18

My favorite event in Doha is Museum of Islamic Art Park Bazaar.
I love spending time outdoor and in Qatar people are most of the time indoor, in shopping malls, at home, at work, in a gym...
During weekend, specially this time of the year, before it becomes too hot, people go to parks and on corniche,  where they have picnic and spend their free time with their families.
This Bazaar is also a great way to spend time strolling between the booths and to grab something for eat. There are variety of food from Italian, Thai, Arabic... and plenty of handmade products and artworks and even used books.
Thank you all for coming this Saturday and hope to see you again on April 6th !

Cute new stationary

Blog post #14

Hi and welcome to my newest blog post!

Last week I was working on my new paintings Foxy Gypsy and French bulldog pirate. After I scanned them I designed new cards, prints, little prints, bookmarks, to do lists and gift tags all with newest illustrations. Printing company did a great job, again! I'm so happy! First who had an opportunity to see them live were people who came to Museum of Islamic Art Park Bazaar on Saturday, 2nd February. Reactions were great! Thank you all!

Christmas shopping

Monday blog post #3

This week was so busy.

On Sunday there was an official opening of Croatian embassy here in Doha and all Croatians were invited to come and celebrate it. Our president Ivo Josipovic was there along with over 40 politicians and businessmen. It's a big thing for us who live here and for Croatian economy hopefully :)

The rest of the week went really quickly, busy with making new stuff for Common Thread POP UP SHOP and for the International Holiday Bazaar.

Common Thread POP UP Shop in Katara Art Center, Doha

International Holiday Bazaar in Grand Hyatt Hotel, Doha

Common Thread POP UP Shop is this time located in Katara Art Center (for the second time) and it looks really pretty with different products from over 15 designers. It is open until 24th November so if you haven't been there it's worth to visit! KAC is in the building 5, open for business from 10am-10pm except on Friday from 2-10pm.

photos from the opening night

International Holiday Bazaar organized by American Women Association here in Qatar was a huge event with over 300 vendors with products from all over the world. For me it was really successful and I was even offered to feature me in one of the local magazine and also collaborative work with two amazing girls from Dubai, lots of people asked when am I going to start with painting workshops...
It was long but great day!!!

Museum of Islamic Art Park Bazaar in April

Hi all!!!
It was really nice this time at a MIA Park Bazaar, the weather was much better than the last two times.
It was hot in the beginning but thanks to my friends Kristy and Sarah I had an umbrella. After 3 o'clock it was even better temperature went down and shade started coming. There were lots of people having fun and enjoying looking and buying stuff from around 100 vendors.

For this Bazaar I had prepared few of my paintings, art prints, art bookmarks, handcrafted cards and handmade brooches along with my younger sister's jewelry.

Here are few photos
( I still don't have my camera :( so some of them my friend took and this one is from Museum of Islamic Art facebook page)

Bazaar at Museum of Islamic Art Park, Doha, Qatar

First Bazaar ever organized by Museum of Islamic Art at the Park of Museum was launched yesterday, on Saturday February 4. The idea is to hold this Bazaar on the first Saturday of every month. So next one will be on March 3.
It is open air market, showcases an eclectic mix of food, jewelry, arts, crafts, clothing, books, souvenirs, perfumes and more. With over 100 street vendors and spectacular harbor views, the MIA Park Bazaar is a modern take on Qatar’s souq tradition.

Here you can see photos of my table.
