Art week in Doha

Oh it has been so busy over here that I forgot to write the post on last Monday.

I have a plan to start publishing blog posts on Wednesday after I reach 100 posts. I am also planing to make a giveaway then so don't miss it!

So, what was happening over the last 10 days?

I participated in 11th Katara QatART Handmade Market on 6th March at Katara Art Studios Courtyard in Doha. Here is a little glimpse of the atmosphere.

I also gave an interview to my handmade community QatART during the market which you can read on this link. There was also a jeournalist from Gulf Times and the interview is published the next day. Find it on this link.

Day after the market, on Saturday 7th March there was an opening of the International Artists Doha Summer exhibition and I am participating in this exhibition with one painting called Arabia. The opening was simple but I am really happy and proud of another exhibition in Qatar. Exhibition is open and running until 26th March daily from 8am-8pm so there is plenty of time to go and see the artworks from 21 international artists all based in Qatar.

The following week starting from Sunday, 8th March until 12th March I was all day every day at Virginia Commonwealth University at the art and design conference Tasmeem 3ayeeb 2015.

I was participating in a workshop with Jan de Coster where we were making robots. The last day it was an exhibition with all the works made in different workshops organized at this conference. During the conference there were lectures and presentations and even Valentino was there, that was pretty amazing! Last two days of the conference I was invited to the POP-UP Market where I was selling my work.

New Art Exhibition in Doha

I am really sorry for writing the post just now. I was so busy with finishing my painting for the new art exhibition with my group International Artists Doha.
I will only have one painting but it is pretty big, 1x1m and I was painting it for a while because it has so many layers and details.

Angel on Earth

Thank you all for your inquiries for custom pieces of my work. I'm really happy when making something special and unique for each of my precious customer or better to say friend because I think we become like a friends once we start our communication and discussion how we want the final piece to look a like.

Fair

On Saturday from 9am-1pm I participated in Doha British School 2013 Spring Fair and it was brilliant. So many nice people admiring my work, I kept asking my self what have I done to deserve it?! Thank you all, you made my day and inspired me to keep on with my work :)

Workshop

I'm so happy to having the opportunity to take a part in a workshop Felt Case Study #1: The Material is the Metaphor is the Material with our leader Hope Ginsburg
The workshop is part of design conference at Virginia Commonwealth University Qatar Tasmeem from 10-17th March 2013.

Tasmeem Doha is the international art and design conference held biennially at VCUQatar.

Over the past eight years, Tasmeem has gathered scholars and practitioners of art and design to discuss critical issues and engage with students and local communities.

The 2013 conference addresses the dual themes of hybridization—interdisciplinary or collaborative work - and making - the production of an outcome or deliverable to be disseminated in the final phase of the conference.

I can't wait to post all the photos from the workshop and our final exhibition :))))
