Monday blog post #98

Oh it has been so busy over here that I forgot to write the post on last Monday.
I have a plan to start publishing blog posts on Wednesday after I reach 100 posts. I am also planing to make a giveaway then so don't miss it!
To be sure you don't miss it sign up for my cute emails and/or subscribe for RSS feed to get my posts delivered to your email.

So, what was happening over the last 10 days?
I participated in 11th Katara QatART Handmade Market on 6th March at Katara Art Studios Courtyard in Doha. Here is a little glimpse of the atmosphere.
I also gave an interview to my handmade community QatART during the market which you can read on this link. There was also a jeournalist from Gulf Times and the interview is published the next day. Find it on this link.

Day after the market, on Saturday 7th March there was an opening of the International Artists Doha Summer exhibition and I am participating in this exhibition with one painting called Arabia. The opening was simple but I am really happy and proud of another exhibition in Qatar. Exhibition is open and running until 26th March daily from 8am-8pm so there is plenty of time to go and see the artworks from 21 international artists all based in Qatar.

The following week starting from Sunday, 8th March until 12th March I was all day every day at Virginia Commonwealth University at the art and design conference Tasmeem 3ayeeb 2015.
I was participating in a workshop with Jan de Coster where we were making robots. The last day it was an exhibition with all the works made in different workshops organized at this conference. During the conference there were lectures and presentations and even Valentino was there, that was pretty amazing! Last two days of the conference I was invited to the POP-UP Market where I was selling my work.

Gypsy angel

Monday blog post #94

Oops oops I am a bit late with my Monday blog post, it is already Thursday, a day when we start celebrating the weekend here in Doha :D so before I start celebrating it I want to tell you few things.

I want to share with you a painting I've just finished for a newborn Dana Alicia. Customer wanted something related to gypsy and circus and I was so happy with that idea. I love when customers are creative and give me new ideas to work on.

Lilla Rogers Bootcamp 2015

Monday blog post #92

It has been a while since my last blog post. I hope you've missed me :D
First I was traveling for Christmas and then since I came back to Doha I had so many projects to work on that at one point I was blocked and couldn't put my self back in a creative mood.

One of the biggest things I signed up for this year is a Lilla Rogers bootcamp for illustrators. It is 6 months program and every month we get the assignment to submit. January assignment was Edwardian brooches inspired journal and here is my submission.

My January submission for Lilla Rogers Bootcamp 2015

I was really struggling with the assignment and almost didn't submit my work but then I told myself what can you loose? NOTHING! Only the brave survive :D

I am now looking forward to the next one!!!

Lots of things happened since I arrived Doha. I continue leading the handmade community in Qatar called QatART and we organized a handmade market on Friday 23rd January. Here are few photos:

Report from Katara QatART Handmade market

Monday blog post #86

Hello!!!

I might be repeating myself but that is because I am really proud of being a fonder of QatART handmade community in Qatar.

Our community has 65 members at the moment. We provide different benefits for our members like marketing workshops with experts, gatherings, networking, discounts...  Early this year we started collaboration with Katara Art Studios and we hold our handmade markets at their premisses in Katara cultural village.

Last Friday, on 24th October we had our third market and it was really really successful. We had an amazing number of people visiting and admiring our market, journalists and even Qatar TV. We were all so happy and proud. Our members made handmade decorations and signs and decorated the space. Everywhere you look you could see handmade creations, made in Qatar.

The next day a photo of our handmade market was published on the front page of Gulf Times!!!
